A Rising Fury traces the journey of Pavlo and Svitlana, two young Ukrainian idealists in love, forever changed by war. Filmed in verité style from Kyiv’s 2013 Revolution to Russia’s 2022 invasion, the documentary takes you through the historic events that set the stage for Europe’s most devastating war in generations. After losing his family home in Russian-occupied Donetsk, Pavlo joins the Ukrainian military. A treacherous betrayal by a close friend reveals a deep deception and exposes a long-laid covert operation behind Russia’s invasion. The film is a testament to love, courage, and the human spirit.
A Rising Fury premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and earned multiple accolades, including the Supreme Jury Award and Best International Director Award at the 2023 Melbourne Documentary Film Festival. The film has been showcased at major international festivals across four continents and garnered nominations for the Bronze Horse Award at the Stockholm International Film Festival, Best Documentary at the Warsaw International Film Festival, and the Golden Duke Award at the Odessa International Film Festival, among others. Described by Film Threat Magazine as "one of the best films of the year" and rated 10/10 by film critic Bobby LePire, A Rising Fury has received widespread critical acclaim.
